In the past, this meeting has taken only between 30 and 45 minutes, and despite its being an important date in the annual life of TAGS and required by the Constitution, it seems a shame to get members to turn out for something that is over so quickly.

For that reason we have decided to combine the AGM with a Cheese and Wine Evening. And instead of it being held in a pub, Geoff and Philip have again been generous enough to place their home in Worthing at our disposal. There will be NO CHARGE for the evening.

Since food and drink will be served, we shall need to know in advance how many will be attending. Could you therefore get in touch with Peter the Social Secretary, either by email, snailmail or telephone if you intend to be at the AGM. PLEASE NOTIFY PETER BY FRIDAY 8 OCTOBER AT THE VERY LATEST.

The Two Johns host a coffee evening at their home in Findon Valley, 7.30-10pm.

The Lady Boys of Bangkok. This troupe are regular visitors to Brighton, but this is a one-off for Worthing – at the Worthing Pavilion for one night only. It is a glamorous and funny show with over 400 dazzling costumes - from Lady Gaga to the Saturdays, Sara Brightman to Bryan Adams. An evening of pure fantasy. This show will book quickly. Chris Hollis invites TAGS members to his home in Yapton for this social evening from 7.30 to 10.

We now have the full details: Annual Dinner This will be held at St Catherine's Hall, Chestnut Avenue,
Guildford GU2-4HF, from 7.30-late. It will consist of a three-course meal (Menu to be confirmed) with wine, soft drinks, mince pies, coffee and entertainment. Dress code: Smart casual. Tickets are £10 GAGS Members and £15 Guests. A minibus will be available for £8.50 per person to cover hire and fuel and will start its pick-ups in Worthing. Bookings are being taken now.

This is a two-day coach trip with Newmarket Travel, a company we have used before, to the Christmas market in Bath and will include one night's B&B accommodation in the Express Holiday Inn in Swindon (or similar), a short tour of the Cotswolds, the service of a Newmarket tour guide and all taxes and service charges. All hotel rooms have private facilities, colour TV, radio and tea/coffee-making facilities, and have a bar and restaurant. The cost will be £79 but the single supplement will be £15. If we can fill all 40 seats on the coach, we can have pick-up points in Worthing, Hove and Guildford. It could be a fun-packed weekend .
